1.Ethylene glycol monomethyl ether (abbreviated as MOE), also known as ethylene glycol monomethyl ether, is a colorless transparent liquid, which is miscible with water, alcohol, acetic acid, acetone and DMF. As an important solvent, MOE is widely used in various oils, cellulose acetate, cellulose nitrate, alcohol soluble dyes and synthetic resins.

2.Fast drying solvents for enamel and varnish, coating diluents, penetrants and leveling agents in the dye industry, are also used for printing inks, preparing sealants, and manufacturing plasticizers. In recent years, MOE has been increasingly used in the pharmaceutical industry, aviation jet fuel anti icing agents, brake oil diluents, etc., and its dosage has increased year by year. It is obtained by the reaction of ethylene oxide with methanol.

3.Colorless transparent liquid with pleasant smell. It is miscible with water, ethanol, ether, glycerol, acetone and N, N-dimethylformamide.

4.It is obtained by the reaction of ethylene oxide with methanol. Add methanol to boron trifluoride ether complex, add ethylene oxide at 25-30 ℃ under stirring, and the temperature will automatically rise to 38-45 ℃ after passing. Neutralize the obtained reaction solution with potassium hydrocayanide methanol solution to ph=8-9chemicalbook. Recover methanol, distill, and collect the fraction before 130 ℃ to get the crude product. Then fractionate and collect the 123-125 ℃ fraction, which is the finished product. In industrial production, ethylene oxide and anhydrous methanol are reacted at high temperature and high pressure, and high yield products can be obtained without catalysts.

Application

1.It is used as a coating solvent, penetrant, leveling agent and organic synthesis intermediate, and also as an additive for jet fuel.

2.2-methoxyethanol, also known as ethylene glycol monoether, is the intermediate of herbicide ethersulfonyl methyl, and also the solvent of nitrocellulose and synthetic resin.

3.This product is used as a solvent for various oils, lignin, nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate, alcohol soluble dyes and synthetic resins; Chemicalbook, a reagent for the determination of iron, sulfate and carbon disulfide, and a thinner for coatings, is used in the packaging and sealing of cellophane, quick drying varnish and enamel. It can also be used as penetrant and leveling agent in dye industry, or as plasticizer and brightener.
